The /armorstand command is a versatile tool that allows you to pose and edit armor stands.
Recipe:
- 6 Sticks
- 1 Smooth Stone Slab
First, craft and place an armor stand. Looking at the stand, you can open the editing menu by either sneak+right-clicking it or doing /as
To edit the last armorstand you interacted with, do /as last
To edit the nearest armorstand, do /as near
The menu for an unedited armor stand looks like this:
The “t” shape on the right represents the armor stand’s inventory, which you can edit by placing items in the corresponding slot — the middle row is the body and the right/left slots are the armor stand’s hands.
The red and green wool blocks in the top right are the armor stand’s general settings. Going from left to right, top to bottom, these are:

1. Visibility - Visible / Invisible

Shows/hides the armor stand “skeleton”. Any items in its inventory will remain visible. Visible by default. Note: Also makes base plate invisible.

2. Size - Small / Normal

Shrinks the armor stand to the size of a baby zombie. Normal by default.

3. Gravity - Enabled / Disabled

Determines whether the armor stand is affected by gravity if the block underneath it is removed. Note: This does not affect whether the armor stand is pushed by pistons. Enabled by default.

4. Arm Visibility - Visible / Invisible

Shows/hides the armor stand’s arms. Visible by default.

5. Invulnerability - Invulnerable / Vulnerable

Affects whether the armor stand can be broken/destroyed by players (including yourself). Vulnerable by default.

6. Glow - Glowing / Not glowing

Makes the armor stand have a glowing outline, as if it was affected by a spectral arrow. Not glowing by default.

7. Name - Showing / Not showing

Shows the name of the armor stand, as if it had a name tag. Change the stand’s name by pressing “Q” when hovering over the option then typing in the desired name. Not showing by default.

8. Base plate - Visible / Invisible

Determines the visibility of the gray plate that the armor stand sits on. Visible by default.

9. Interactability - Uninteractable / Interactable

Determines whether players (including you) can interact (i.e. equip armor/items to the stand, remove armor/items from it) with the armor stand. Interactable by default.
Note: Making your armor stand uninteractable also means you can’t do /as or shift-right click to open its GUI.
If you do this unintentionally or need to access the armor stand again, simply do

/as last

to open the menu of the armor stand you interacted with most recently or

/as near

to open the menu of the closest armor stand.
Finally, the bottom-right items: Position and Cloning.
Starting with position options, the compass — click the compass to bring you to the position options menu. This menu is essential if you want to change your armor stand’s pose and consists of four rows of wool.

The first three rows determine the X, Y, and Z positions of each part of the armor stand. From top to bottom, the first row of brown wool represents the stand’s X-values, the second row of blue wool represents the stand’s Y-values, and the third row of purple wool represents the stand’s Z-values.

Each of these rows is split into seven columns which correspond to the relative positions of the armor stand’s head, torso, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg as well as the armor stand’s absolute position in the world (i.e., the block’s coordinates).
Left-clicking a slot will increase its value, and right-clicking will decrease it.
Holding shift when you click increases the amount by 10x
For example, the pose below can be made by changing the position of the head, arms, and limbs.
The final row in this section only has one option, which serves to rotate the figure by left- or right-clicking.

Posing Tips

-
Working with armor stands can be a lot of trial and error, especially at first.
-
I find getting the Y-rotation of an arm or leg right first and doing the X- and Z- rotations second/third can be helpful.
-
If you position your view to the left or right of the armor stand and then do ‘/armorstand near’, you can get a view of what you’re working on without having to close and open the menu every time you make a change.
-
You can’t move an armor stand onto land that someone else owns.
Now, onto the cloning tool — the paper in the bottom-left of the section. This tool allows you to easily copy the pose of one armor stand to another without having to write down values.
(Note: It won’t copy equipped items or armor, just the pose).
To clone, go into the menu of the armor stand whose pose you’d like to copy and click on the paper labeled “Open clone picker”.
This will open another menu with two rows of red and green wool, which indicate whether a part of the armor stand’s pose will be copied (green) or not copied (red).
By default, every part except “Body”, “Interactable”, and “Invulnerable” is set to copy.
This status can be changed by clicking on the part you would like to copy in the menu.
Once you’ve selected what you would like to copy, press the escape key [esc] (not the ‘Back’ option within the menu!), then right-click the armor stand you’d like to copy the pose to (it must already be placed), and you’re done! To cancel a clone or finish cloning, just left-click any block.
For example, if we wanted to copy the exact pose we used earlier:
-
Place down an armor stand where we’d like it to be
-
Enter the menu of the armor stand whose pose we want to copy
-
Click on “Open clone picker”
-
Click on “Body” to enable it
-
Press escape
-
Right click the un-posed armor stand(s)
-
Left-click any block when you’re done to stop
If you’re having trouble with cloning or prefer things in video-form, here is a link to a video guide!

The creator is on a slightly older build of the plugin so their main armor stand menu looks a little different, but cloning still works the same as of August 2023.
Cloning Tips
-
I recommend you give the stand you’re copying the pose to items *after* copying the pose rather than before, in case you make a mistake with cloning and want to break the stand to reset the pose.
-
If you’d like to copy the same pose to multiple armor stands, you don’t have to re-copy the original pose over and over. As long as you’ve already placed the armor stands you’d like to have the pose, you can right-click each one in succession when cloning without canceling the clone.
-
If the stand you’re copying from is invulnerable or uninteractable and you want the new stand to be as well, make sure to toggle the options in the bottom-right of the cloning menu labeled “Interactable” and “Invulnerable”.
